About

I am a pianist and researcher from Calabria, and musical rediscovery is my artistic signature. I was born in Reggio Calabria in 1982 and have devoted my life to exploring, studying and sharing new, rare and unconventional piano repertoire.

My recital programmes range from traditional to unusual repertoire, with a particular interest in Italian composers. I recently made my recording debut on the Dutch label Piano Classics with a CD devoted to the early works of Giuseppe Martucci, some of them recorded for the first time and presented live on Rai Radio 3.

My future projects include a recording of Muzio Clementi’s sonatas for piano four hands and a research project that will take me across Europe, leading to an album of Danish solo piano repertoire centred on Niels Wilhelm Gade.

I have won prizes in some ten national and international competitions, both as a soloist and in a piano duo – including the Golden Prize at the Beethoven International Music Competition in London, the Silver Award at Best Classical Musicians in London, and the absolute first prize at both the “Gianluca Campochiaro” competition in Pedara and the “Premio Vincenzo Bellini” in Milo – and I have performed at major venues and for concert societies in Italy and abroad, including the Mozarteum and the Wiener Saal in Salzburg, the Bacău Philharmonic in Romania, the Fundación Eutherpe in León, Spain, the Ravello Concert Society, the Bellagio and Lake Como Festival, Miramare Castle in Trieste, the Teatro Bratuz in Gorizia, the Università Popolare in Milan and the Festival Musicale delle Nazioni in Rome.

I completed my academic studies at the F. Cilea Conservatory in Reggio Calabria, graduating with honours and a special mention under Salvatore Massimo Tripodi, and went on to further studies with Anthony and Joseph Paratore at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Musikschule in Iserlohn, Germany.

My interests are wide-ranging: I have also composed – my original works are published by Edizioni Novecento and held at the National Central Library of Florence – and promoted music in my region, founding the Continuum Musicum Cultural Association in 2007, with which I have organised twelve concert seasons and two International Composition Competitions that drew musicians from across Europe and from Canada.

Alongside my concert career and research, I pour my passion and my experience into teaching and currently teach piano at Italian conservatories.

For me, classical music is not a niche art but a bridge that brings together different sensibilities, stories and generations through the pure sharing of emotion.
